COIN ISSUE ACT 1966

AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE ISSUE OF BRONZE, MIXED METAL AND CUPRO-NICKEL COINAGE.

AN ACT  authorizing the issue of bronze, mixed metal and cupro-nickel coinage, sanctioned by Order of Her Majesty in Council of the

31st day of JANUARY, 1966.

THE STATES, subject to the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have resolved as follows:  -

1.-  (1)  The Finance Committee is hereby authorized to issue bronze coinage of a denominational value not exceeding ten thousand pounds in any one calendar year.

     (2)     Coins issued in pursuance of this paragraph shall be of a denomination of one twelfth of a shilling.

2.-  (1)  The Finance Committee is hereby authorized to issue mixed metal coinage of a denominational value not exceeding twenty-five thousand pounds in any one calendar year.

     (2)     Coins issued in pursuance of this paragraph shall be of a denomination of one quarter of a shilling.

3.-(1)  The Finance Committee is hereby authorized to issue cupro-nickel coinage of a denominational value not exceeding fifty thousand pounds in any one calendar year.

     (2)     Coins issued in pursuance of this paragraph shall be of such denomination (not exceeding five shillings) as the Finance Committee shall determine.

4.             Coins issued in pursuance of this Act shall be issued under the direction of the Finance Committee which shall determine the design, weight and fineness thereof.

5.             The Act authorizing the issue of bronze and mixed metal coinage, sanctioned by Order of Her Majesty in Council of 10th August, 1964, is hereby rescinded.
