JERSEY R & O 5478 Decimal Currency (Jersey) Law, 1971 ____________ DECIMAL CURRENCY (CONVERSION) (JERSEY) ORDER, 1971. ____________ THE FINANCE AND ECONOMICS COMMITTEE, in pursuance of Article 7 of the Decimal Currency (Jersey) Law, 1971,1 hereby orders as follows : - 1. On and after the fifteenth day of February, 1971, the enactments mentioned in the Schedule to this Order shall have effect subject to the amendments provided for by that Schedule. 2. SCHEDULE “LOI (1842) SUR L’ETAT CIVIL” In Article 52 of the “Loi (1842) sur l’Etat Civil”, as amended2 for the words “pour une recherche générale, sept chelins, six pennys” there shall be substituted the words “pour une recherche générale, quarante nouveaux pennys”. “LOI (1884) SUR LE PRET SUR GAGES” 1. For Article 2 of the “Loi (1884) sur le prêt sur gages”3 there shall be substituted the following Article – “ARTICLE 2 L’intérêt ou profit qu’un Prêteur sur gages pourra exiger ou recevoir de la personne qui lui aura remis un ou plusieurs objets en gage, outre la somme principale qu’il lui aura prêtée, sera un demi nouveau-penny sur vingt-cinq nouveaux pennys pour chaque mois ou la partie du dernier mois que les objets resteront en gage, laquelle somme tiendra lieu de profit ou d’intéret, y compris les frais d’emmagasinage et autres.” 2. In Article 7 of the said Law,4 for the words “un demi penny sterling” and “un penny sterling” there shall be substituted the words “un nouveau-penny”. “LOI (1902) TOUCHANT LES IMPOTS SUR LES VINS (RETOUR D’IMPOT)” In Article 4 of the “Loi (1902) touchant les Impôts sur les Vins (Retour d’Impôt)”,5 as amended, for the words “deux pennys” there shall be substituted the expression “£0.0500”. “LOI (1904) (AMENDEMENT No. 2) SUR LA PROPRIETE FONCIERE” In Article 11 of the “Loi (1904) (Amendement No. 2) sur la propriété foncière”,6 for the words “deux chelins six pennys sterling” there shall be substituted the words “quinze nouveaux-pennys”. “LOI (1935) CONCERNANT LES IMPOTS SUR LES VINS ET SPIRITUEUX” 1. In paragraph (1) of Article 2 of the “Loi (1935) concernant les impôts sur les vins et spiritueux”, as amended7 (hereinafter referred to as the “principal Law”) for the words “cent quinze chelins” there shall be substituted the words “£5.7500”. 2. In Article 5 of the principal Law –8 (a) in sub-paragraph (a) of paragraph (1) for the words “douze chelins par gallon” there shall be substituted the words “£0.6000 par gallon” ; (b) in sub-paragraph (b) of the said paragraph (1) for the words “quatorze chelins par gallon” there shall be substituted the words “£0.7000 par gallon” ; (c) in sub-paragraph (a) of paragraph (2) for the words “quatorze chelins par gallon” there shall be substituted the words “£0.7000 par gallon” ; (d) in sub-paragraph (b) of the said paragraph (2) for the words “dix-huit chelins par gallon” there shall be substituted the words “£0.9000 par gallon” ; (e) in paragraph (3) for the words “deux chelins par gallon” there shall be substituted the words “£0.1000 par gallon” ; (f) in paragraph (4) for the words “quatre chelins par gallon “there shall be substituted the words “£0.2000 par gallon”. “LOI (1937) AUTORISANT LA PERCEPTION D’UN IMPOT SUR LA BIERE” In the first paragraph of Article 1 of the “Loi (1937) autorisant la perception d’un impôt sur la bière” as amended9 – (a) in sub-paragraph (a) for the words “cent-vingt-trois chelins” there shall be substituted the expression “£6.1500”; (b) in sub-paragraph (b) for the words “cent-vingt-quatre chelins six pennys” there shall be substituted the expression “£6.2250”. “LOI (1937) AUTORISANT LA PERCEPTION D’UN IMPOT SUR LE TABAC” In Article 1 of the “Loi (1937) autorisant la perception d’un impôt sur le tabac”, as amended<10 – (a) in sub-paragraph (a) for the words “dix-huit chelins” there shall be substituted the expression “£0.9000” ; (b) in clause (i) of sub-paragraph (b) for the words “dix-neuf chelins trois pennys” there shall be substituted the expression “£0.9625” ; (c) in clause (ii) of sub-paragraph (b) for the words “vingt chelins trois pennys” there shall be substituted the expression “£1.0125” ; (d) in clause (i) of sub-paragraph (c) for the words “vingt-et-un chelins six pennys” there shall be substituted the expression “£1.0750” ; (e) in clause (ii) of sub-paragraph (c) for the words “vingt-deux chelins six pennys” there shall be substituted the expression “£1.1250”. ELECTRICITY (JERSEY) LAW, 1937 In the Third Schedule to the Electricity (Jersey) Law, 193711 as amended, for the figure “6d.” there shall be substituted the figure “3p”. “LOI (1938) SUR LES HONORAIRES DES JURES-JUSTICIERS” In the Tariff of the “Loi (1938) sur les honoraires des Jurés-Justiciers”,12 for the figures “2s. 6d.” and “6d.” wherever those figures occur, there shall be substituted the figures “15p” and “5p” respectively. “LOI (1940) AUTORISANT LA PERCEPTION D’UN IMPOT SUR CERTAINES HUILES ET ESSENCES” In Article 2 of the “Loi (1940) autorisant la perception d’un impôt sur certaines huiles et essences”,13 as amended,14 for the words “un chelin quatre pennys” there shall be substituted the expression “£0.0700”. BIRTH CERTIFICATE (SHORTENED FORM) (JERSEY) LAW, 1950 In paragraph (1) of Article 2 of the Birth Certificate (Shortened Form) (Jersey) Law, 1950,15 for the words “a fee of sixpence” there shall be substituted the words “a fee of five new pence”. FAMILY ALLOWANCES (JERSEY) LAW, 1951 In paragraphs (1) and (2) of Article 6 of the Family Allowances (Jersey) Law, 1951, as amended,16 for the words “seven shillings and sixpence” there shall be substituted the words “forty-two new pence”. MILK MARKETING SCHEME (APPROVAL) (JERSEY) ACT, 1954 In paragraph 24 of the Milk Marketing Scheme (Approval) (Jersey) Act, 1954,17 as amended,18 for the words “one penny” there shall be substituted the words “one half of one new penny”. LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANIES (REGISTRATION FEES) (JERSEY) LAW, 1967 In paragraph (2) of Article 1 of the Limited Liability Companies (Registration Fees) (Jersey) Law, 1967,19 for the words –

MATRIMONIAL CAUSES (FEES) (JERSEY) REGULATIONS, 1950 In the Second Column of the Schedule to the Matrimonial Causes (Fees) (Jersey) Regulations, 1950,20 for the figures “1s. 6d.”, “2s. 6d.” and “7s. 6d.” wherever those figures respectively occur there shall be substituted the figures “7p”, “13p” and “37p” respectively. CIVIL SERVICE ADMINISTRATION (TRAVELLING ALLOWANCES) (JERSEY) RULES, 1950 In Rule 1 of the Civil Service Administration (Travelling Allowances) (Jersey) Rules, 1950,21 as amended,22 for the words “seven pence per mile” and “three pence per mile” there shall be substituted the words “three new pence per mile” and “one and one half new pence per mile” respectively. PROBATE FEES (JERSEY) REGULATIONS, 1957 In the Tariff of the Probate Fees (Jersey) Regulations, 1957,23 as amended, for the figures “2s. 6d.” wherever those figures occur, there shall be substituted the figure “13p”. MOTOR VEHICLES (INTERNATIONAL CIRCULATION) (JERSEY) REGULATIONS, 1958 In the Second Schedule to the Motor Vehicles (International Circulation) (Jersey) Regulations, 1958,24 as amended, for the figures “10s. 6d.” and “7s. 6d.” wherever those figures occur, there shall be substituted the figures “53p” and “38p” respectively. GAMBLING (BETTING) (JERSEY) REGULATIONS, 1965 In sub-paragraphs (a) and (b) of paragraph (5) of the Fourth Schedule to the Gambling (Betting) (Jersey) Regulations, 1965,25 as amended, for the words “three halfpence” there shall be substituted the words “one and one half new pence”. INSULAR INSURANCE (CONTRIBUTIONS) (JERSEY) ORDER, 1965 In clauses (i) and (ii) of sub-paragraph (c) of Article 17 of the Insular Insurance (Contributions) (Jersey) Order, 1965,26 as amended, for the words “ten shillings and sixpence” there shall be substituted the words “fifty three new pence”. HEALTH INSURANCE (PHARMACEUTICAL BENEFIT) (GENERAL PROVISIONS) (JERSEY) ORDER, 1967 In sub-paragraph (f) of paragraph (1) of Article 11 of the Health Insurance (Pharmaceutical Benefit) (General Provisions) (Jersey) Order, 1967,27 as amended28 – (a) in clauses (i) and (ii) for the words “five shillings and ninepence” there shall be substituted the words “twenty-nine one-hundredths of a pound” ; (b) in clause (iii) for the words “twelve shillings and sixpence” there shall be substituted the words “sixty-three one-hundredths of a pound”. HEALTH INSURANCE (MEDICAL BENEFIT) (JERSEY) REGULATIONS, 1967 In paragraph (1) of the Schedule to the Health Insurance (Medical Benefit) (Jersey) Regulations, 1967,29 as amended,30 for the words “twelve shillings and sixpence” there shall be substituted the words “sixty-three new pence”.
