Jersey (GB) 1948 BLUE CROSS One Pound Note
This is a very interesting issue. A special printing of the Bank of England 1948-9 Peppiatt Pound was issued for use on the Channel Island of Jersey.
At the center of the front of the notes there is a blue cross. This "secret" cross was probably to track the movement of notes from Jersey to Britain in the immediate post-war (and subsequent period of black market trading). This variety is not recorded in Pick or Duggleby. RARE!
