This issue was withdrawn in May, 1881, except for 38,400 pieces.
The pieces were melted for the 1881 1/12 shilling issue.
Things to note:
There is only one die; however, dies show signs of deterioration, i.e., die filling.
Dies were engraved at the Royal Mint, but the Heaton Mint struck the coins.
