This document records the formal transition of Jersey from a mixed French/English currency system to exclusively English currency, replacing centuries-old provisions dating back to 1729–1730. The old French six-livre coins had become so worn and clipped as to be practically unusable, prompting the petition from over 1,100 islanders.
